It’s travel that feels personal, not packaged. Expert Guides Bring India to Life Our guides are more than just knowledgeable – they’re passionate storytellers, cultural interpreters, and local insiders. Many have been with us for over a decade, offering a depth of experience and warmth that turns a tour into a journey of discovery. Our local guides take great pride in representing Jules Verne, serving as passionate ambassadors of our brand and our values. Incredible Places to Stay From heritage havelis and royal palaces to serene retreats and stylish city hotels, and from small boutique hotels to the majestic Taj Hotel group, we handpick accommodation that reflects the character of each destination. Expect comfort, charm, and a true sense of place.

Seasons of India

India is a year-round destination, with each season offering its own unique charm, colours, and experiences.

A journey through the seasons

Whether you're drawn to serene landscapes, vibrant cities, or wildlife-rich national parks, there's a perfect time to explore India. Here's our rundown of when to go to this wonderfully varied country.

Top tip: For wildlife enthusiasts, visit national parks like Ranthambore between October and April for the best chances of spotting tigers and other wildlife.

October to March The Golden Season Best for: Cultural exploration, city touring, wildlife safaris, and comfortable travel.

As the monsoon retreats and cooler weather sets in, India comes alive with colour and provides the ideal conditions for travel. From the majestic forts of Rajasthan to the tranquil backwaters of Kerala, this is the most popular time to visit. October - November: Wildlife parks reopen with excellent sightings. December - February: Crisp mornings and sunny days make it perfect for exploring the Golden Triangle, Varanasi, and the Himalayas. March: Warm days and cooler evenings - ideal for sightseeing. April to June Spring into Summer Best for: Hill stations and Himalayan escapes. Temperatures rise across the plains, but the hill regions offer cool retreats. April - May: Ideal for visiting Shimla or Darjeeling, where rhododendrons bloom and mountain views are spectacular. June: A great time for early monsoon treks in the north and fewer crowds in popular destinations.

July to September Monsoon Magic

Best for: Lush landscapes, wellness retreats, and off-season travel. The monsoon transforms India into a lush, green paradise. While travel can be slower, it’s a rewarding time for those seeking tranquillity and rejuvenation. July - August: Scenic Himalayan escapes and seeing the Golden Triangle with fewer crowds. September: Rain begins to ease, and the landscapes remain vibrant – a great time for photography and peaceful travel.

Intimate Journeys, Extraordinary Experiences

At Jules Verne, we believe that the true essence of India is best discovered through its flavours, traditions and the stories woven into everyday life. Our journeys are designed to immerse you in the country’s rich culinary heritage, vibrant culture and sustainable practices - offering experiences that are personal, authentic and unforgettable.

From First-Time Wonders to Return Discoveries Whether you're setting foot in India for the very first time or returning to uncover its deeper layers, our expertly curated tours and cruises are designed to inspire. From iconic highlights like the Taj Mahal and Jaipur’s palaces to hidden gems you’d never find on your own, every journey is rich with discovery. One Visit Is Never Enough As every traveller to India soon discovers, one visit is never enough. This eclectic country has a way of drawing you back, each visit revealing something new: a different rhythm, a deeper connection, a fresh perspective. With Jules Verne you’ll experience India not just as a destination, but as a story that unfolds uniquely with every visit. Food In India Is More Than A Meal It’s a celebration of culture, community, and tradition. You’ll savour this richness through culinary experiences that go far beyond the expected. Enjoy a royal dinner at Jaipur’s Rambagh Palace, dine under the stars at Ambrai Restaurant in Udaipur, or learn the art of Indian cooking with a hands-on Tastesutra experience in Delhi - every bite tells a story. India’s culinary landscape is as diverse as its geography. In the north, expect richer, creamier, and milder flavours. In the south, the cuisine turns tangier and spicier. Meals are prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients, avoiding overfished species and reducing food waste – ensuring every dish is not only delicious but also responsibly sourced.

Sustainable Steps In India At Jules Verne, sustainability is woven into every journey. We work closely with local partners to ensure our tours support communities and protect cultural heritage. Our India itineraries are designed to minimise environmental impact while maximising positive contributions to local economies. We exclusively use local guides, fairly compensated for their expertise, and choose accommodations and cruise vessels that are locally staffed to create meaningful employment. By focusing on cultural and historical experiences, we help foster international appreciation for India’s rich heritage while supporting local artisans, service providers, and conservation efforts. These small steps form part of our larger commitment to responsible travel – ensuring that India’s beauty and traditions can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Connect With Local Guides Our local guides, many of whom have been with us for over a decade, are storytellers and cultural ambassadors, revealing the soul of India with every step. “My name is Chandraveer Singh Rathore, I was born and brought up in Jodhpur Rajasthan. I’ve been guiding for over 15 years, and every day still feels like a new adventure. I love sharing India’s rich history, diverse culture, and hidden gems with curious travellers. Working with

Jules Verne has been incredibly rewarding – they value authentic experiences and passionate storytelling.”
